Who this is for
Budget owners and commercial managers.
Break the package into cost layers
To compare offers fairly, separate design and sample costs, factory manufacture, quality inspection, freight and insurance, unloading and lifting, mechanical/electrical connections, commissioning and warranty.
- Factory package: frame/shell, waterproofing, finishes and sanitaryware.
- Project services: engineering, prototypes, technical submissions and testing.
- Site/logistics: shipping, crane, placement, connections and handover.
Understand major price drivers
Repeated layouts can spread engineering and tooling across more units. Bespoke finishes, unusual geometry, small order sizes, long-haul shipping and difficult access can materially change cost.
- Count types and quantities, not just total units.
- Use an approved finish schedule and fixture brands.
- Include currency and tax assumptions for international bids.
Request apples-to-apples quotations
Ask every supplier to price the same interface schedule and explain every exclusion. Any estimate should be labelled with its assumptions until project-specific supplier offers are received.
- Clarify Incoterm, currency and quote validity.
- Require distinct rates for variants and change orders.
- Compare payment schedule and performance protection.
Questions project buyers ask
How much does a bathroom pod cost?
There is no responsible universal price for every project. A meaningful budget needs quantities, drawings, system type, finish grade, delivery country and clearly defined scope.
Does a larger order always reduce cost per unit?
Higher repetition can improve efficiency, but factory capacity, variant mix, logistics and design changes may offset economies of scale.
Decision note
Codes, permits and system performance vary by location and selected manufacturer. Ask your architect, MEP consultants and approving authorities to review the specific proposal before contract award.
